ABOUT US
We are a non-profit orphanage that attends to more than 50 children and youth, both boys and girls, who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Our aim is to provide them holistic care including housing, alimentation, recreation, medical attention and education, so that as adults they would be able to reintegrate into the society as productive human beings.

HOME
We offer our beneficiaries care and attention within a family environment.
HEALTH
The physical, nutritional, dental, emotional and mental development of our beneficiaries is monitored.
EDUCATION
They are given basic, middle and higher school education; sports and complementary to all our beneficiaries.
INDEPENDENT LIFE
Final program in which our young people are trained for work and daily life, promoting social responsibility in them.
OUR HISTORY
Ministries Pan de Vida was founded in February 1994, when twelve children were placed under the care of a missionary couple, Dario and Maria Elena Hilbrands. Within two years they were caring for forty children who had been rescued from the streets or situations of abuse and neglect.
In the year 2000, with the support of the German Federation of Soccer and groups from Canada, they were able to obtain more than 7 acres of land to build separate spaces for the boys and the girls, a school, an auditorium for different activities and an area for recreation to promote the children’s integral development.
In 2015 the Hilbrands delegated the responsibility as directors to Jeremy and Ana Laura Van Beelen, an exemplary couple with a serving heart. The Van Beelens continue with the vision of Rewriting Stories.
In this 2021, they decided to hang over the reins to Enrique and Blanca Colorado, who will continue with the goal of changing the lives of more children and young people by making them know the love of Jesus and by supplying all their primary needs within an environment of love, acceptance, and hope, so that in the future they will be agents of change in society, impacting it with their way of life.

OUR ORCHARD AND FARM
In our aim to both guarantee a balanced diet and to achieve auto-sufficiency, we have implemented the “Orchard and Farm” project, by planting fruit and vegetables and raising farm animals. Every element of this project has the purpose of ensuring a healthy development for the children in our care.
